The power of Routines
I want to start a new routine - one that would first get me in the mood to study, where I'll be motivated to learn and enjoy doing it. So I'll apply what I know best:
"Complex systems are built up of simple systems. By definition, a complex system is the sum of multiple smaller and simpler components."
In my case, my system will be a sum of actions that build on top of each other.
System:
- Key Action: The action that will start the routine.
- Must be extremely easy to do.
- Must be quick: ~2 minutes.
- An action that will put me in the mindset of studying.
- Lead-up: I need to finally start my main routine. How do I use the momentum created by the key action to do my main routine?
- Main Action: The heart of the routine. In this case, the main action is studying.
- There is a caveat: we won't just be studying, we'll be doing something that is under the umbrella of the action of studying, so we'll be doing a task related to studying.
